This family estate, which has been established over time, currently has more than 6 ha, taken over by Jean-Yves Fahrer since 2009. The first bottling on the property dates from 1950, and the first bottles of Crémant d'Alsace are elaborated on the estate. from 1980. The vineyard located mainly around Orschwiller, consists of old vines, that is to say beyond 25 years, more than 60%.
Great success with its Pinot Gris Vieilles Vignes 2015, with aromas of fresh walnuts with dominant almond and peach on the palate, both fine and robust, a nice wine typed, perfect both on mackerel papillotes with mustard only with a rhubarb pie.
The Gewurztraminer Soil of Haut-Kœnigsbourg 2015, delicately golden hue, discreet notes of honey, nuts and rose, which combines freshness and frame, a wine with aromas. Excellent Riesling Vieilles Vignes 2015, with its floral freshness and fruity nuances, with hazelnut and rose scents, is powerful, with finesse. Taste also Crémant d'Alsace white brut, from Auxerrois, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc, with light and intense mousse, persistent mouth, rich in aromas (fresh fruit, hawthorn ...).

At the head of the Premiers Grands Vins Classés. In 1970, the estate was converted to organic farming, the first applications of bio-dynamism starting in 1981. From the 1986 harvest, the mention Demeter is obtained, and since the 2002 harvest, the wine is no longer corked with cork but with crown caps in stainless steel, to avoid organoleptic deviations (flavors and aromas) caused by corks. Vinification without any additives, manual harvesting, indigenous yeasts, aging on lees for 9 months.
Very nice Pinot Gris Grand Cru Vorbourg 2016, with almond nose, all aromas, with, on the palate, complex notes of lemon and narcissus, a great wine full of charm.
The Riesling Grand Cru Vorbourg 2013, ample, mouth fresh and round at the same time, beautiful golden dress, very fine, with scents of hazelnut and rose, dense and distinguished at the same time, is really successful, and opens, including , with pea trout or romaine gnocchi.
The Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Steinert 2011, combining richness and persistence, is typical and generous, with notes of white flowers and spices, a beautiful finish, a wine that combines delicacy and richness of aromas, excellent evolution. Its soil, dry and filtering, is very largely limestone. It forms a homogenous terroir in the oolitic Dogger that is covered downstream by stony scree of the same nature, hence the origin of the name Steinert.
Exceptional Muscat Grand Cru Steinert 2012, beautiful dress, combining subtlety and complexity, intense nose, while aromas dominated by flowers and ripe fruit, perfect on cuttlefish sausage shoots or chicken skewers tandoori.
There is still the Crémant d'Alsace, intense nose, with aromas dominated by flowers and ripe fruit, elegant mouth, the Sylvaner Bergweingarten, sweet at will, and this very successful Pinot Noir Strangenberg 2015, without added sulphite , garnet color, ruby color, with notes of violet and humus, full-bodied, with a nice roundness in the mouth.

The Meyer family has always known how to pass on this passion for wine from generation to generation. In 1976, Hubert succeeded his father André at the head of the estate. He then develops direct sales in bottles. During the 1980s, Jocelyne joined her husband Hubert on the farm and brings a new look at the wine while being responsible for welcoming guests to the vault and the cottage. In 2009, a new generation Meyer at the estate with the arrival of Pierre. Domain of 11.5 ha, which develops more and more the bottle (80% currently of the total production).
A real favorite for this Pinot Gris Grand Cru Winzenberg 2015, a racy wine, charming, all structure and fragrance (broom, peach), complex finish, ample and persistent. The 2016 Riesling is full-bodied with aromas of musk and rose and is a seductive wine with freshness and roundness. Beautiful Riesling Grand Cru Winzenberg 2015, where we find all the strength of its terroir, subtle nose of pink, a beautiful persistence, an intense wine, concentrated, very fine to the palate. The Riesling Vendanges Tardives 2015, complex, the nose of cooked berries and grilled, very velvety, is soft mouth to perfection.
Very nice Muscat, of harmonious mouth, of a great aromatic richness, with the intense dress, a very typical wine, really very flattering, which is tasted on a lawyer mousse or an omelette with asparagus tips.
The Pinot Noir aged in oak barrels 2015, for 18 months, generous, with scents of blackberry and undergrowth, is all in the mouth, very seductive and very good guard. The Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Winzenberg 2015 is a success, with aromas of grilled and almond, fat, full and sweet on the palate, a powerful wine with a long finish.
You will also love the Crémant d'Alsace rosé, made with Pinot Noir, a beautiful robe and a pretty perennial mousse.
As for their 2016 Pinot Gris, complex, sweet on the palate, it has a beautiful yellow robe with golden highlights, and gives off a powerful nose (acacia, pear), which allows it to combine with Jacques with foie gras on a chicken curry.

The vineyard of the Domaine extends on different hillsides (Zellenberg, Riquewihr, Hunawihr, Ribeauvillé, Bergheim) which all benefit from a privileged exposure and offer famous and diversified soils: Froehn, Lerchenberg, Rotenberg, Burg, Grafenreben.
Since 1995, Catherine and Patrick Rentz have been pursuing their father's winemaking and winemaking work and developing a reasoned viticulture. The grapes are sorted carefully and harvested at full maturity. They are vinified individually by grape and terroir to preserve their strong aromatic expression.
Their remarkable Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg 2015 has a frank and fruity (citrus) nose, a wine with a very good aromatic persistence, a beautiful color, a very dense and dense mouth, very typical as the Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Froehn 2014, a great frankness on the nose and on the palate, fragrant and persistent, combining floral and fruity notes, a wine with finesse, persistent, perfect with a terrine of rabbit with prunes or a trout with leeks and tomatoes confit.
Excellent Pinot Gris Froehn 2014, beautiful bright, rich and fragrant, where we find the nuances of spices and fresh fuits, dense and distinguished at once, intense nose, mixing structure and distinction. Very pretty Pinot Blanc 2016, frank, fresh, vivacious, very pleasant, a perfect wine with a soufflé of sole with tomato sauce or sliced veal in Zurich, for example.
Taste the Crémant Prestige Blanc De Blancs, with a golden color, a beautiful elegance, a very harmonious wine on the palate, with typical citrus nuances, the 2015 Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives, dense and unctuous, powerful and fragrant, all scents (Pink, honey, brioche bread ...), and this very tasty Pinot Gris Selection of Noble Grains 2007, of great finesse and great aromatic power, with nuances of candied apricot, toasted almond and honey, slowly evolving, to emerge on Epoisse or a tart with caramelized apples and raisins.

A vineyard of 8 ha (the average age of the vines is 30 years old, the grape harvests are manual, the size in double guyot) planted on hillside on granitic soils, where one strives to practice a healthy culture. Their harvest is done entirely by hand and the grapes are brought whole on the press. In 1996, they embarked on integrated production, a viticulture that is more respectful of the environment.
Maxime Woerly represents the new generation, a young full-time professional, truly passionate. It was his grandfather who started production in 1947. His parents are still present, but he is now "the head" of the family business of 8 ha since January 2016. He participated in the conversion of the Domaine en Organic farming in 2011 and attended the first organic harvest in 2014.

For Maxime Woerly, the 2017 looks like the 2015, same concentration of sun, high degrees between 13 and 13.5 °, same concentration of acids, which gives a wine very dry, rich, with a lot of freshness, a good potential of guard , and a very appreciable amount. We are very happy with this vintage, he tells us.
Sales in 2018 are towards the Premiers Crus and the 2017 communal appellations as well as the granular base Riesling.
A novelty, the 2017 Riesling Dambach-la-Ville, located on granitic sands, a dry, deep wine, without having the richness of Grands Crus. In June 2018, we market Grands Crus 2016 and 2017. Started in organic farming, in 2014, the operation continues its development in this area.

Very beautiful Riesling Grand Cru Frankstein 2016, of a beautiful typicity that one perceives from the very first nose with a lot of complexity, a bright and fruity nose and in the mouth one finds these notes of white peaches without too much acidity.
Remarkable Pinot Gris Grand Cru Frankstein 2016, very nice roundness with sweet aromas that make you think of ripe fruits, almost candied. The Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Frankstein 2016, spicy as it should be, while structure and fragrance, nose of fresh berries, ample and persistent, is really charming, very racy.
Superb Riesling Clos du Breitstein 2016, generous, lively and harmonious, with persistence of aromas, round and dense on the palate, very well balanced, with subtle notes of citrus, almond and honeysuckle. The Riesling Vendanges Tardives 2015 has aromas of brioche bread and musk, a creamy mouth with a full finish, a fine and sweet wine, of course, ideal on a turbot in a net, gingerbread sauce or Apple strudel.
The Riesling vintage of L'Ours 2016 is typical, all fruit with a touch of minerality that makes all its charm, a wine that provides immediate pleasure, the Gewurztraminer Vieilles Vignes 2016, shiny golden dress, very finely spiced, subtle and sweet in the mouth, elegant, of a pretty persistence. Pretty Sylvaner 2016, a nice balance on acidity, notes of white-fleshed fruits.
The Pink Elephant is a rosé, a confidential production for this atypical vintage, a sustained shade, a nose that can be characterized as "sweet" with these very sweet aromas but, on the palate, it's a surprise because there is not that sweetness that one could expect thanks to the Pinot Noir that brings freshness and character to this wine. As for Auxerrois La Patte de Malo 2016, it is an atypical vintage with this almost coppery hue, aromas that are out of the ordinary with notes of candied fruit this time well pronounced accompanied by a nice amplitude with the length in the mouth. Gîte on the spot.

Unquestionably at the head of the First Great Classified Wines. Charles Schléret strives to apply his knowledge of modern techniques to his vines located on the excellent terroir of Turckheim. "This vat room," he says, "allowed me to do a temperature-controlled fermentation thirty years ago, at a time when only a few large houses were equipped." It already preserved an aromatic freshness. extreme, very intense nose and mouth, which would make the reputation of his wines. His efforts are regularly rewarded by a multitude of medals and references to the charts of prestigious French and international competitions.
"I keep the wines in cellar, so that they age as well as possible and that amateurs can acquire them in the best conditions. I have a range of vintages that goes from 1997 to 2007. The wines that I propose are mature wines, the Grands Crus d'Alsace improve with age, it is not always the idea that the public is made wines from Alsace. There are amateurs of young wines but, the Grands Crus can grow up to thirty years, the tasting is much more interesting, they are wines with a great complexity of aromas. "
Indeed, we can only love its Pinot Gris 2007, gold medal at Lyon 2010, mouth fresh and supple at the same time, persistent on the palate, with aromas of fern and fresh fruit, great finesse . The Riesling 2007, gold medal at the 2015 USA Miami Challenge to the Best Wines, is intense on the nose and on the palate, with this floral fruity-lined freshness, to be expected on a sea trout and leek galette or goose with sauerkraut and apples. Bewitching Gewurztraminer Selection of Noble Grains 2006, gold medal Lyon 2010, developing flavors of brioche and candied fruit, which combines finesse and structure, great care. The Gewurztraminer Selection of Noble Grains 2000, powerful, with notes of candied fruit and white flowers, intense, very beautiful evolution, perfect on a Bleu de Bresse or a tart with caramelized apples and grapes.
Superb Riesling 2005, Trophy Prestige Grand Concours of World Wines Citadelles de France, whose freshness puts forward the fruit, a distinguished wine, with a nose of pink, very fine, suave and dry at the same time, a typed and full-bodied wine , where spices and fresh flowers intermingle, which has collected the rewards. We still excite his taste buds with this beautiful Gewurztraminer 2007, gold medal at the International Wine Challenge, very aromatic (spices, citrus), rich nose, ample and typed.
