At the top of its appellation. The roads of Château Berthenon and the Planteur-Ponz family crossed for the first time in 1953. It was at this time that Paul Planteur (the grandfather) bought this vineyard which was almost abandoned. He quickly passed on the property to his children and it was they (Léa and Henri) who restored the Château and made it prosper.
The relay has been passed on to the third generation (Thérèse and Thierry) since 1999. The estate covers 37 ha, made up of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The year 2017, says Therese Pons-Szymanski, was a heterogeneous year, with good and not so good. Moreover, there will be no vintage 2017 Chloé because the plots concerned froze, but it will be a vintage "pleasure", lower than 2016.
The wines offered for sale in 2018 concern Château Berthenon 2016 and 2017.
His wines are mainly exported to Asia and the United States for 3/4. She has plans to create a vintage made from Merlot and Malbec, and, for now, continues to maintain and beautify the property.

We really enjoy our Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux vintage Chloe 2015, total destemming of the harvest, malolactic fermentation in barrels, aging on fine lees in new barrels 18 months, beautiful material, is a wine of dark color, with a powerful nose cassis and undergrowth, where the distinction is associated with wealth, really tasty. The 2014 is a wine with material, beautiful color and intense aromas of red berries (plum, cherry), a nice finish and very good evolution.
Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux vintage Henri 2015, with these characteristic and very persistent notes of gooseberry, smoked and spices, with dense and ripe tannins at the same time, a wine of ample mouth, of excellent guard. Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux red 2016, with a powerful nose that combines blackberry and cassis, ample and solid, silky mouth, a tasty wine, delicate with round tannins. Tasty 2015, combining finesse and frame, with a cherry color, with violet hues and aromas of raspberry, rich in mouth, mixing power and finesse, a wine with ripe tannins.
You will also appreciate the Blaye Bordeaux Blanc Sauvignon 2016, one of the best of the appellation, all in aromatic finesse, harmonious, elegant, with scents of rose and apple, supple but lively mouth.
Crémant de Bordeaux white, same grape, with light bubbles, lively mouth where we find the fresh almond and apple, is frothy foam, like the pink Crémant, which smells strawberry.
