The winemaking origins of this farm go back quite far. Part of this property belonged to General Eugène Dubern who distinguished himself particularly in Africa and particularly in Algeria (1839 and 1840). In 1879, Mr. Révolat, a young owner at the time, received a gold medal for one of his crops; since then, many other awards have followed.
At the end of the decade of the 1970s, Mr. Albert Yung set out to reconstruct the entire vineyard and to modernise wineries and wineries.
Thierry Yung manages this wine estate which consists of the appellations: Graves, Bordeaux Supérieur and Bordeaux with mainly selected red grape varieties of Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon.

“The 2018 harvest was difficult, says Thierry Yung, because of the late blight, but in the end, it will be a beautiful vintage in quantity and quality for our three appellations. We are now marketing 2015 and 2016 and then this famous 2018, which promises to be particularly promising.”

He can be proud of his beautiful Graves Château Haut-Calens rouge cuvée Spéciale 2015, aged in barrels, rich and supple at the same time, with persistent scents where dominate notes of blueberry and cinnamon, of excellent evolution. Beautiful 2015, with scents of ripe red fruits (blackcurrants) and sweet spices (cinnamon), fleshy, of great intensity, with both tasty and powerful tannins, of excellent evolution. The 2014, has powerful aromas of cooked fruit, humus and spices, rich palate, where can be found the smoke and pepper, a perfect wine today on a beef steak like rossini or a rabbit in gibelotte. The Graves Château Haut-Calens red 2015, fleshy, all in aromatic shades, of sustained colour, with ample tannins, with this nose where the blackberry, the cherry and the undergrowth dominate.
Taste also its Bordeaux Superior Château Croix de Calens 2016, once again at the head of its appellation, ample and dense, with powerful and fine tannins at the same time, fatty, a very fragrant wine (notes of fresh fruit, undergrowth, spices...), combining finesse and structure, well typed.
The 2015 develops present and fine tannins at the same time, of glossy colour, with hints of raspberry and cherry in the finish, with a spicy touch, to be expected with fine mushroom tarts or a rib at the Bordelaise. Joli Croix de Calens rosé 2018, fresh, fine and persistent on the palate, is very successful, light-coloured, where rose and strawberry dominate.

A property led by Jean-Pierre Leymarie, a former market gardener, who was passionate about his vintage, gradually developing it. The estate has 18.35 ha: almost 16 ha in red and 2.5 in white. The vines have an average age of 20 to 25 years. The harvest in white is manual and carried out in successive stages according to a very rigorous phytosanitary criterion. They have been mostly mechanical in red since 1997 (the youngest vines are harvested by hand), with optimal maturity and, here too, an extremely rigorous phytosanitary criterion. The vineyard is planted in Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet franc and Petit Verdot for reds, Sauvignon and Sauvignon gris for whites.
You will like like like us this Pessac-Léognan vintage Prestige red 2015 (selection of old vines, low yields, manual harvest at optimal maturity), with notes of cherry and sub-winewood, dark colour, very balanced on the nose as in the mouth, a nice warm wine, with shades of ripe currant and leather on the palate. The classic red Pessac-Léognan 2015, with the nose of blueberry, violet and spices, oily, combines power and finesse, of deep color with purplish reflections, with coated tannins. Seductive Pessac-Léognan cuvée Alexandre blanc 2016, it is dry but suave, of pretty golden colour, very round, very fruity, powerful and persistent mouth, with notes of almond and peach.
Also try the Dauphin de Lafargue, fleshy as it should be, with the characteristic notes of fresh berries and humus, while supple.
