Since 1867, four generations have succeeded each other on famous climates. Louis, Roger, Jacques and, today, Christophe Defrance, draw from their terroirs the best assemblages. Beyond the effervescent pearls, the Defrance family has for a long time had the privilege and the art of making the famous Rosé Riceys wine.
Located exclusively on the finish of Riceys, the estate is composed mainly of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. The production is implemented thanks to technical means: Christophe Defrance at the head of the vineyard since 1988, has profoundly developed winemaking techniques by combining know-how and modern production system.

He entrusts us with a certain pride the recent release of 3 cuvées and explains that: the original idea to extract all the riches of our land of belonging in the respect of the nature and the soil, gave birth to the cuvées Native; these gourmet champagnes offer, complexity and perfect balance, for great moments of pleasure.
Native Extra brut, the dominant of Chardonnay brings to this vintage power and minerality. Fruit aromas (Mirabelle plum, pear ...) express themselves with a beautiful length on the palate with hints of toasted almonds and white flowers. Native Rosé brut, resulting from a short maceration of Pinot Noir, this wine is selected from our best hills. This expressive and powerful grape reveals a farandole greedy red fruit accompanied by a smooth mouth. Native Soléra brut, whites white (100% Chardonnay). This wine aged in barrels, is an assemblage of several vintages. Of great complexity, this slightly woody champagne offers notes of citrus (grapefruit peel), and a great minerality accompanied by slightly roasted nuts.
For 2018, three vintages are offered for sale; 2007, 2008 and 2004. The latter, remarkable for its elegance, is a great vintage racy, generous, fresh, with notes of dried fruits and fresh flowers, which offers a sweetness and sweetness fine and persistent, to lead to a dessert or to savor for himself.

It must be admitted that this champagne vintage 2004 is really remarkable, delicate but rich, with pear and hazelnut scents, it combines finesse and fruity, with this balanced nervousness, good mouth, with notes of linden and quince in the final, Uncork with a green cabbage miller or a tuna and tomato flaky pancake.
The Millesime 2008 is in the lineage, very classic of this great champagne vintage, a champagne perfumed, beautiful yellow amber color, which smells of pippin apple and hazelnuts, of a beautiful finesse, a full-bodied, dense and distinguished wine. time. Belle cuvée Excellence, very representative of Pinot Noir, with shades of candied fruit, gourmet mousse, harmonious and fine, which mixes structure and nervousness, a powerful champagne.
The champagne Prestige, from selected vintages, comes from the blend of Chardonnay with 30% of reserve wines, with this delicate and limpid, very elegant and generous, with notes of dried fruit and pear, offers a range and a fine and persistent freshness.
As for the brut nature, elaborated without shipping liquor, with delicate but very present aromas of fresh white flowers, fern and apricot, of great finesse, it is a beautiful complex wine, rich and full, with a persistent and powerful finish, a champagne that requires a rich cuisine such as, for example, pork chops with zucchini or duck breasts roasted and fricassee mushrooms.
