Go into Premier Grand Vin this year. This family, established for several generations in Le Breuil in the Surmelin valley, makes its Champagnes by combining tradition and modernity. Pierre and Yveline took over the estate in 1970 and today their two children, Céline, responsible for marketing, marketing and communication, and Jean-Charles, responsible for vineyards and winemaking, are helping to expand the Mark. The typicity and the diversity of the terroirs make it possible to develop Great Champagnes with Character.
“Our farm, says Céline Mignon, has 20 ha spread over the whole of Champagne. Ten classic cuvées and, since 2017, the latest creation of the youngest son, Jean-Charles Mignon, the Clos des Graviers, a Champagne from a very limited terroir, a high-end cuvée. My parents developed a beautiful business, I have always been immersed in this world and I feel good, it is up to us to take up the challenges, a brand is built over the generations. Before our father Pierre, there was his father and his grandfather. ” After Céline and Jean-Charles, the next generation is already preparing for itself, in the world of Champagne Pierre Mignon, the long line is not about to die out.
Exceptional harvest in 2019, very good maturity, very healthy grapes with no rot, we think it will be a very fine vintage. It’s a really good year for Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Each year, certain grape varieties stand out from the rest.
We also made an exceptional harvest for the bleeding rosés which are characterized by a very nice fruity.
In 2019, we opened a showroom in Epernay, 9, rue Jean Mouët, very close to the rue de Champagne. The opportunity to taste our 11 vintages, discover them, compare them with a sommelier. Our goal was to offer an accompanied tasting.
People can have fun by comparing a dosage, a non-dosage, a Blanc De Blancs, blanc de noir…
We also serve plates to accompany the tasting, salmon, cold meats, cheeses, caviar, oysters in season… a very nice place to discover. ”

Splendid this Clos de Graviers 2011 Champagne, full of aromas, beautiful vinosity, very balanced, intense and tasty mouth where aromatic richness and persistence mix, with nuances of small dried fruits (almond, walnut) and quince, ideal during a meal. The Harmony of Whites 2009, develops aromas of lemon and fresh nuts, with this intense mouth and these nuances of white flowers and lemongrass, elegant foam. The Grande Réserve, with abundant foam, combining structure and finesse, is very well balanced, rich, with a nose dominated by fresh flowers and small dried fruits, well developed like Prestige, a tasty vintage, with a subtle and persistent nose, nice foam, with aromas of hazelnut, yellow peach and honey. The cuvée Année de Madame 2009, 60% Chardonnay, 30% Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir, with a beautiful robe, toast and apricot aromas, with notes of white flowers, abundant foam, c is a gastronomic wine.
Remarkable Pure Zero dosage cuvée, 55% Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, blend aged in cellars for more than 3 years, (natural brut not dosed), very fruity on the nose and in the mouth, subtle and persistent. Beau Prestige Rosé de Saignée, 40% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir, which develops an ample and silky mouth, very fruity, a wine with a lot of sweetness, perfect on a shortbread tart with strawberry.
The Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs, 100% Chardonnay, is lightly aromatic, a fresh cuvée, combining finesse and structure. Finally, the brut rosé, 70% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, which develops notes of ripe red berries, a nice finish on the palate, perfect as well, especially, on a cake of semolina with orange only with grilled langoustines.

Settled in Riceys since 1830, handling harvesters for 3 generations, the family makes their Champagnes, Rosé Wine from Riceys and Coteaux Champenois only with grapes from their vineyard planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. These three long-aged vintages are born from very old Cistercian cellars from the 11th and 12th centuries. The vineyards are planted for 9/10 in Pinot Noir and the rest in Chardonnay. It comes from a reasoned culture, and benefits mainly from the Cordon de Royat size, which allows to produce a quality grape. The property has obtained the Point Accueil label on the Champagne tourist route, with the very beautiful 12th century cellars and a magnificent tasting cellar typically from Champagne.
We enjoy ourselves with a nice tasting of the brut Champagne Nature Expression, typical, full and fragrant, on the palate dominated by white fruits and small dried fruits, slightly honeyed as it should be. Very pleasant Saignée rosé, with concentrated fruit, with hints of peach, apricot and a spicy note.
Champagne brut Tradition, 100% Pinot Noir, harvested in 2011 with 15% old Reserve wines, is a balanced Champagne, full-bodied, fragrant, with subtle notes of toast and citrus on the finish. brut Réserve, 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, harvested in 2012 with 20% old reserve wines, has aromas of toast and apricot, fine and distinguished foam like the famous rosé brut, 100% Pinot black, harvest from 2012, fermentation for 2 to 3 days, fragrant and intense, both fine and fleshy, with a ripe raspberry nose.
