At the top. A family property for more than 5 generations. The grape varieties are made up of 65%
Merlot, 15%
Cabernet-Sauvignon and 20%
Cabernet franc, manual harvest. Regular cultivation of the soil, while respecting the environment, is preferred, excluding any chemical weedkiller and any systemic chemical treatment.
It is the permanent observation of the vineyard that determines the interventions. The fauna present in the vineyard attests to the natural balance obtained. In the field, therefore, no chemical weedkiller, the grass does not grow because its winegrower works the soil. He turns it over several times a year, with appropriate plows.
Florent Guinjard is a child from the
Bordeaux vineyard. A real ! He is passionate about sharing his passion for wine with as many people as possible. Above all, he likes to discover the astonishing diversity of the wines he produces on his
estate.
At the head of a property which has belonged to his family since 1880, he perpetuates both the tradition while advancing, year after year, his winemaking technique by surrounding himself with the advice of the best
Bordeaux oenologists to offer a top wine. range at an affordable price. His desire: to
produce fruity,
fine wines with very little oak. Its trademark:
fruit.
“With an area of 11.2 ha, specifies Florent Guinjard, the vineyard is grouped around the cellar. It is located on the sandy-silty and stony plateau located northeast of Libourne. We are working 10.5 ha, have increased the capacity of our winery to be able to vinify all the grapes we
produce.
In 2009, we equipped ourselves with a thermo-regulation to better control the temperature of our
fermentations. In 2010, to improve our quality and be respectful of our harvest, we bought a new press.
In 2012, in an ecological approach, we equipped ourselves with a washing area and effluent storage tanks. The same year we restored 1 ha of vines, uprooting and replanting. Then, in 2014, we rehabilitated 1 ha of vines, which we replant with our own selected
Merlot. ”
This year Florent Guinjard is offering “his
Lalande-de-Pomerol 2014, 2015 and 2016 for sale.
The 2019 harvest went well, despite a drought episode which caused us to lose 7 hectoliters per
hectare, of course because of the good weather sequences, weed management was complicated because they developed, but in return, we used fewer treatments than usual.
The 2019
vintage has an exceptional aromatic intensity and high degrees.
It will be a great wine for aging superior to 2018. ”
Frankly, his
Lalande-de-Pomerol cuvée Reine 2016 is really superb, dense and well fleshy, which combines color and structure, with these characteristic notes of cherry and
humus, robust, with ripe tannins, a powerful and tasty palate, and excellent guard. It is the same for its 2015, with a ripe cherry nose, with scents of redcurrant and leather, is a generous and harmonious wine, of intense carmine color, and develops a persistent mouth with these notes of spices and blueberry , with smoky nuances.
The 2014 has aromas of macerated
fruit and spices, a beautiful garnet hue, a dense wine on the nose and in the mouth, combining
finesse and structure, with tannins that are both rich and silky, excellent evolution.
Beautiful 2012, with a nice deep
ruby color, a very harmonious wine, with a raspberry and violet nose and a hint of spice, fleshy on the palate. The 2011, full-bodied and rich on the nose and in the mouth, is of a nice balance, fat, with melted tannins, where the Morello cherry and the
humus, a very nice wine, combine.
